Why Alpaca Deserves Gentle Care
Alpaca fibre is naturally hypoallergenic, odour‑resistant, and incredibly resilient. With the right care, your wrap will maintain its softness and structure for years.
How to Refresh Your Wrap Between Wears
Often, alpaca doesn’t need washing — just a simple refresh:
-
Lay it flat overnight to allow the fibres to relax.
-
Hang it in a steamy bathroom to gently lift creases.
-
Give it a soft shake to restore its natural drape.
When It’s Time to Wash
If your wrap needs a deeper clean, follow these steps:
1. Hand Wash
Use cool water and a small amount of gentle wool wash.
2. Soak, Don’t Scrub
Let it rest for 10–15 minutes. Lift it out carefully to avoid stretching.
3. Rinse in Cool Water
Ensure all soap is removed without wringing or twisting.
4. Press, Don’t Squeeze
Lay the wrap on a clean towel and press to remove excess water.
5. Reshape While Damp
This is the magic step. Lay it flat, smooth the edges, and coax it back into its original silhouette. Alpaca responds beautifully to gentle reshaping.
6. Dry Flat
Never hang when wet — gravity will distort the shape.
OR
