From Cria to Cardigans: Our Alpaca Apparel Starts at the Farm

In the last few weeks, something magical has been happening on the farm...

We welcomed not one, not two — but three gorgeous new cria (that’s baby alpacas for the non-farmers among us!). These little ones are part of a carefully planned breeding programme we launched last year with one mission: to bring the softest, most sustainable knitwear to life — starting right here in Britain.

Our brand isn’t just about clothes. It’s about origin. It’s about care. It’s about keeping things close to home.

Why we’re proudly Born in Britain

Everything we do — from the alpaca to the apparel— happens in the UK.

100% British alpaca fleece

✔ Designed in the New Forest

Spun in a UK mill

Made in a UK factory

No shortcuts, no shipping back and forth

This keeps our carbon footprint low and supports small businesses across the country.

And when you choose our knitwear? You’re doing the same.

The benefits of alpaca fleece (that you’ll actually notice)

Alpaca is one of nature’s smartest fibres. Here’s why it’s the only thing we use:

  • No itch – Unlike wool, alpaca has no lanolin (bye, skin irritation!)
  • Temperature regulating – Keeps you warm in winter and cool in spring
  • Water-resistant – Light rain? No problem
  • Odour resistant – Fewer washes needed
  • Minimal pilling – No bobbly disasters after two wears
  • 100% biodegradable – So it's kind to the earth too
You asked, we answered: Alpaca FAQ

Is alpaca fleece really better than wool?
In many ways, yes! It’s softer, warmer, more breathable and doesn’t irritate skin.

Is shearing safe for the animals?
Absolutely. Alpacas need shearing for comfort and health. It’s done once a year with expert handlers — gently and respectfully.

How do I care for it?
Handwash or gentle wool cycle. Use a mild detergent, reshape, and lay flat to dry. Easy.
