Most knitwear labels tell you what a jumper is made from. Very few can tell you where. At Alpaca Apparel, that's the whole point, our founding line, from the alpaca to the apparel, nothing is hidden, isn't a slogan we chose after the fact. It's the reason the brand exists.
Every piece begins in the New Forest, with a herd we know by name, not by number. We choose this because the number of garments we choose never to exceed are part of what keeps this quietly rare rather than mass-produced. Fibre is shorn, sorted and graded on the farm before it ever leaves our hands.
From there, it travels to Two Rivers Mill in Northern Ireland for scouring and spinning, and on to the Knit Design Centre in Leicester for knitting and finishing. Two stops, one country, zero outsourcing overseas. That's a deliberate contrast to an industry norm where 'alpaca wool jumper' on a label can mean fibre flown in from South America and blended with synthetics you'd never guess were there.
